Ras Al Khaimah has taken a significant step forward towards the future of luxury real estate.
RAK Properties, a doyen of real estate development in the emirate, has announced that overseas buyers can now purchase its properties using cryptocurrency, in a groundbreaking partnership with ADGM-regulated fintech firm Hubpay.
The collaboration will allow buyers from around the world to invest in Ras Al Khaimah’s burgeoning property sector by paying with major digital assets such as Bitcoin, USDT, Ethereum and more - a move that will reshape how these investors engage with the region’s real estate market. The payments will be seamlessly converted into dirhams via Hubpay’s secure platform without RAK Properties having to handle the currencies at all.
The payment option opens the doors to a new class of global buyers who are digitally savvy and looking to invest in one of the most dynamic real estate markets worldwide. By diversifying its payment options, RAK Properties has not only advanced its position as one of the emirate’s brightest developer lights but also pushed the real estate investment landscape ahead immeasurably.
Ras Al Khaimah’s real estate market is flourishing. Driven by landmark projects such as Wynn Al Marjan and the surge of international brands, the emirate’s property prices grew by 39% YoY in Q1 2025, following an impressive 118% increase in sales value in 2024 (at a value of AED 15.08 billion).
Looking ahead, nearly 14,000 new residential units, including over 5,600 branded residences from top names like Fairmont, Ritz-Carlton, Nikki Beach, and Aston Martin, are set to enter the market by 2029. And with visitor numbers soaring – especially, in H1 2025, from India (+25%), China (+9.2%), Russia (+7%) and the U.K. (+5%) – Ras Al Khaimah real estate’s global appeal is undeniable.
The U.A.E.’s increasing acceptance of cryptocurrencies is evident beyond Ras Al Khaimah as well. Some developers in Dubai already accept Bitcoin and Ethereum for property purchases, while the Dubai Land Department’s agreement with Crypto.com enables digital currency transactions in real estate. Emirates and Dubai Duty Free have also recently plunged into the world of cryptocurrency payments.
