Ras Al Khaimah Vision 2030

Ras Al Khaimah is undergoing a profound transformation. Under Vision 2030, the emirate is repositioning itself to be a powerhouse across multiple sectors including tourism, economy and sustainability. Below, Christie’s International Real Estate Ras Al Khaimah highlights its key goals.

Tourism

Vision 2030 aims to boost the emirate’s tourism industry by creating and attracting world-class resorts, leisure destinations and cultural experiences, many of which will take advantage of the enchanting nature and adventure tourism the emirate is already famous for. This will in turn fuel the plan’s goal of welcoming 3.5 million visitors annually by 2030 and growing the sector’s contribution to Ras Al Khaimah’s GDP from its current 5% to one-third of the economy.

International visitors are expected to form a significant chunk of the 3.5 million. In H1 2025, they constituted a stunning 50% of all visitors to the emirate, from areas as diverse as India, the U.K., China, Germany, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic and CIS countries. This contributed to a 6% YoY increase in visitor arrivals during the first half of the year.

Key to the entire tourism drive is Wynn Al Marjan, the region’s first casino. Expected to open by 2027, the unprecedented integrated luxury resort will lead to a potential market gap of 7500 hospitality keys by 2030 — a gap that international brands from Fairmont to Ritz-Carlton are rapidly attempting to fill, with a slew of new hotels set to open in the next few years.

Economy

By extension, the plan aims to expand tourism-driven employment for Emiratis and Ras Al Khaimah residents, and improve the quality of life at work for the industry’s employees. This in turn will both augment and diversify the economy, which is a key goal of Vision 2030.

The plan aims to achieve a real GDP growth of 4% per annum while attracting foreign direct investment of over AED 45 million. The emirate has also consistently achieved sovereign ratings in the A range by agencies like Fitch and S&P Global, a metric Vision 2030 aims to continue.

Sustainability and Well-Being

This growth is to be achieved sustainably as per Vision 2030 — an overarching push that affects all sectors and will include such specific programmes as a ban on single-use plastics and a target of renewable energy generation exceeding 750MW by 2030.

It will enhance well-being, too. Vision 2030 aims for Ras Al Khaimah’s population to enjoy a healthy life expectancy and increased liveability.

Real Estate

Happily, this comprehensive and rapid growth is already being reflected in real estate.

Vision 2030 aims for Ras Al Khaimah to become a leading residential and property investment destination. Approximately 14,000 new residential units are expected between 2026 and 2029, with a notable 5600 being branded. These will feature developments by such brands as Nikki Beach, Aston Martin and Fairmont, and lead to a doubling of the emirate’s residential inventory by 2030.
